Greta Thunberg
is making a lot news lately. She seems to be under a delusion about inter
generational time gaps. As if the difference of 30 years between one generation
and the next is significant. I suppose you could think of her as a voice from
the future giving us a lecture, a voice given to the unborn to plead with us to
change our ways. But that’s not the impression I got when I heard her talk
about her dreams been stolen. She seems to think climate change is a mere
generational, by which I mean caused by one or two generations and now imposed
on the next. The notion that climate change is an indulgence caused by Greta’s
parents and grandparents and maybe even older siblings that she now has to live
with the consequences is preposterous. This is not global warming, not how it
came about or how it’s going to affect the world. I will never really have to
deal with the effects of global warming. Neither will you or Greta or even
Greta’s children. Greta Thunberg is much an accomplice in this collective betrayal
of nature and the earth's future, as a baby boomer who drives a nice car and
has taken frequent holidays aboard. Global is not day after tomorrow event.
Greta Thunberg is about half my age, the notion that I could live to 90 whilst
she get fried in her 70’s is silly. She can have all the dreams she likes
without global warming interfering. No doubt we will both experience Global
Warming, I can feel it happening, the change. But it’s slow, a few extra wild
storms, accelerated coastal erosion, all things I can live with and will live
through without diminishing my quality of life. Global Warming is something
beyond our timespan, that’s what makes it so difficult to deal with. Whats your
timespan you might ask. Your timespan is your connection to collective
consciousness, the connection of minds in close proximity. Nobody can ever
really think for themselves, all that are living are in a neural network of
thoughts.
//strangely written way before AI, and LLM's. I think they were on the horizon
in 2019, the first papers were out on neural networks and some
"beta's" were getting trialed. Comically AI sounded like an ant
trying to speak English then. It's now a genius super-intelligence.
